Toby Goodshank is a visual artist and musician from Brooklyn, New York. Goodshank arrived in Berlin in October 2012 and began his first series of solo paintings following an exhibition in NYC with his art collective 3MB (featuring Adam Green and Macaulay Culkin). The series takes its name from Fritz Lang’s 1931 film.
Through utilizing a blend of styles and symbols inspired by German Expressionist film and art, the branded modern day landscape, and visual imagery culled from dreams and imagination, Goodshank's work relies on science fiction, horror, and humor to tell a story of alienation and exploration in Germany's capital.
